Oliver Betschart tied for fifth in Junior Orange Bowl
Oliver Betschart remains on course for a top-ten finish at the Junior Orange Bowl International Championship at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Florida.
The 16-year-old amateur is one of just five players under par and sits in fifth at one-under, 11 shots adrift of American leader Lorenzo Rodriguez, with 18 holes left to play.
Betschart carded a one-over 72 in the penultimate round on Sunday, which included three birdies and four bogeys.
He was flawless on the front nine, where he made two birdies without dropping a shot to make the turn at two-under for the round and four-under for the tournament.
However, the Gosling’s Moongate Tour and Fecchio Cup champion struggled on the back nine as he carded four bogeys, including on the final two holes, to shoot over par for the first time in the 72-hole tournament. He carded a two-under 69 and even par 71 in the previous rounds.
