Oliver Betschart tied for fifteenth at the Junior Orange Bowl International Championship at Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Florida, on Monday.

Starting the final round tied for fifth, the 16-year-old amateur carded a four-over 75, his worst round of the tournament, to finish at three-over 287.

Betschart struggled on the front nine, recording two double bogeys, a bogey and a birdie to make the turn at four over for the round and three-over for the tournament.

However, the Gosling’s Moongate Tour and Fecchio Cup champion steadied his play on the back nine, carding another birdie and a bogey to complete the remaining holes at even par.

Overnight leader Lorenzo Rodriguez, of the United States, won the tournament by one shot at seven-under 277. Switzerland’s Joshua Hess finished second at 278, while Colombian Tomas Restrepo was third at 279, another shot adrift of the winner.

Canadian Emile Lebrun posted the lowest round on Monday with an impressive six-under 65, which included seven birdies and one bogey.

The Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship is one of the oldest invitation-only junior amateur tournaments in the world.

The field features some of the biggest and brightest stars from around the globe, including the top 25 US-based players, national champions from Europe, Asia, South America and Africa, as well as others who gain entry through automatic qualification.

Past champions include Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Mark Calcavecchia and Bubba Watson.
