Bermuda continue winning ways
Bermuda gymnastics team have covered themselves in medal glory at the USAIGC World Championships in Orlando, Florida.
T’aja Williams, 10, led the way for Bermuda in the Bronze Diamond Division, claiming gold on the floor and beam, finishing with a score of 36.100 at the weekend.
Competing in the Bronze all-around competition, Amari Trott, Sanaa Burgess, Daria Symonds, Brianna Ray, Yvé Smith, Logan Watson-Brown, Holly Wakely and Sasha Crumley took part in the in the Bronze all-around competition, with seven of the gymnasts qualifying for the finals.
Bermuda’s gymnasts, who claimed the Copper level title last week, will compete in the Silver, Gold, and Platinum divisions over the next few days.
More than 1,200 gymnasts from the United States, Canada, England and South Africa will take part in the event, which runs until July 3.
Included in Bermuda’s squad is Gemma Lightbourne who will represent the Island in rhythmic gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next month.
