Superhero help for Open Airways
A local organisation aimed at improving the lives of islanders living with asthma has some new superhero support to help spread their message.
Two vans operated by Open Airways — one recently donated by The Bermuda End to End — now sports the likeness of the organisation’s superhero champion ‘Action Asthma.’
The character is a fixture of the group’s school assemblies and book bearing the same name.
“This is causing a lot of excitement with the children as they recognise the superhero,” the group said in a release.
Operating without an office, the vans also serve as transport for the organisation’s nurses.
“The newly decorated vans attract attention wherever we go and people of all ages reach out for help and advice anywhere from the road side to the supermarket and even the gas station,” the group said.
Roughly 8,000 Bermudians are affected by asthma and other long-term breathing difficulties, the organisation said.
