Dance walk to mark World Aids Day
The Department of Health is marking World Aids Day tomorrow with a Move More Dance Walk around Hamilton.
Participants are asked to wear red in support of those living with HIV/AIDS, health promotion co-ordinator Virloy Lewin said.
The final dance walk of 2017 will start at the health ministry’s headquarters on the corner of Church Street and Cedar Avenue at 12.30pm and end at the entrance of Washington Mall on Church Street at 1.30pm.
Dr Lewin said: “Bertha Griffin of Zumba Tone will warm us up and lead us through the dance walk route.
“As the holiday season gets in to full swing let’s take some time to move more. Join us at the start or anywhere along the route.”
A World Aids Day observance will also be held at City Hall at 5.30pm and feature a five-minute preview of a special programme, HIV/AIDS in Bermuda, filmed by CITV.
The full programme, which takes a look back at HIV/AIDS in Bermuda over the past 35 years and includes interviews with healthcare professionals and advocates, will premiere on Channel 3 and 102 on Wow at 9pm.
