BA passenger tests positive for Covid-19

A visitor who arrived from Britain tested positive for the coronavirus over the weekend.

It was the single positive among 919 test results received by the Ministry of Health on Saturday.

The person who tested positive arrived on the British Airways flight on Friday.

A ministry spokeswoman added: “Contact tracing has begun.”

Bermuda has had a total of 169 confirmed cases and 153 people have recovered.

There were seven active cases on Saturday, but none were in hospital.

Nine people with Covid-19 have died.

Two cases were under investigation to determine the source of transmission.

Bermuda’s country status was “sporadic cases” and the seven-day average of the island’s real-time reproduction number was less than 1.
