Free dental care on offer to people in need

A dental practice is to provide free care to people in need next week.

Coral Dental, based in Hamilton, will run its Give Back a Smile Day because of Covid-19 restrictions, which has prevented its usual free visits to rest homes.

Carmen Rabain, a partner and dental surgeon at the practice, said: “From the conception of Coral Dental, we have always had a desire to remain connected to those who are apart of our community.

“Although Covid has prevented us from the traditional ways we typically give back, we thought this would be an awesome way to reach and support those with the most need.

“Hopefully we will be able to give this group of people a jump start towards better oral health and smiles they can be confident in.”

The practice will treat people for free on November 27.

People found eligible will be able to get white fillings, crowns, hygienist treatment and teeth whitening.

A dentist will carry out interviews with people accepted for the programme and decide what treatment is needed.

Applicants must be aged between 18 and 65.

Anyone interested should visit this link for more information on eligibility and to submit an application for themselves or someone else.

Submissions can be made from 8am on November 16 until 5pm on November 20.

Successful applicants will be notified on November 25.

All procedures will be carried out at Coral Dental, in the Bermudiana Arcade off the city’s Queen Street.
