Two new test centres for the coronavirus have been added by the Ministry of Health for next week.

The pop-up locations are at the Transport Control Department in Pembroke and the Horseshoe Bay Beach car park in Southampton.

TCD can be used at the outdoor drive-through lanes on Monday and Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Drive-through and walk-in service will be offered.

Horseshoe Bay can be used for walk-ins only on the same days the following week, April 5 and April 7, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

No appointments are required.

Kim Wilson, the health minister, said the service would be “safe, quick and convenient”.

“We are meeting people where they are to make it easier to get tested.”

Ms Wilson called on the public to check their Covid status with the outbreak of an “aggressive variant” and rising numbers of positive cases.

Test locations for travellers only are Perot Post Office in Hamilton on Monday to Saturday, and Penno’s Wharf in St George’s on Sundays.

Testing times are e-mailed to travellers, and operating hours depend on traveller demand.

Ms Wilson advised anyone experiencing symptoms to contact their doctor.

She added: “Your doctor will schedule you or direct you to the Covid-19 helpline at 444-2498 for symptomatic testing appointment slots.”
