Fake Royal Gazette Covid-19 notice circulating

Island threat: This illustration provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in January 2020 shows the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

A message circulating on social media platform Whatsapp purporting to be a Royal Gazette notice stating that Bermuda is reverting to the system of going to grocery stores by alphabetical order is false.

The flyer, which appears to be similar to ones that were correctly sent out during Shelter in Place period last year, claims people can only go to grocery stores, gas stations and pharmacies on the days designated by the first letter of their last names.

Yesterday, the Government issued a warning that a fake e-mail image claiming to be from the Department of Health saying that a stay at home order had been made was circulating.

Government has not issued a stay at home order and visits to shops are not being restricted by day.
