A charity foundation has donated $50,000 in support of the hospital’s Covid-19 vaccination clinic.

Chubb Charitable Foundation, the charity wing of the insurance company Chubb, donated the money to the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Foundation which launched an appeal for $220,000 to help fund the clinic.

Lori Dunstan, the executive director of the Chubb Charitable Foundation, said: “We are pleased to support such a worthy and much needed initiative, during a very challenging moment in this pandemic.

“We have enormous gratitude for the work being undertaken by the hospital to support the Government’s vaccination programme and we applaud BHB’s medical heroes’ tireless efforts to protect Bermudians through its Covid-19 vaccination clinic.”

The Royal Gazette previously reported that while the vaccinations were administered for free, the BHB faced expenses from the additional operations and staffing.

Lisa Sheppard, the executive director of the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Foundation, said: “The Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Foundation is extremely grateful to the Chubb Charitable Foundation for their kind and generous donation.

“Our relationship with such benevolent corporate partners like Chubb ensures we can continue to support the BHB and its vital services at critical times.

“Chubb Charitable Foundation is an outstanding corporate citizen and we sincerely appreciate their generosity.”
