Pressure group criticises Covid-19 vaccines for children
A pressure group opposed to tough Covid-19 quarantine regulations said today it had concerns over the vaccination of children again the disease.
The Bermuda Freedom Alliance warned that more research was needed before vaccines were proven to be safe for children.
The BFA said that testing the vaccine on children “in advance of published adult long term safety data” was a breech of international health codes.
It listed several examples where a “rushed-to-market” vaccine resulted in death and disability in children
A spokesman said: “We need not look far back into history to remember the devastating harms a rushed-to-market vaccination can have.
“To repeat any such mistakes here would be unforgivable.”
He added: “The immune system is phenomenally complex and still poorly understood.
“Experimenting on young children for a disease that carries vanishingly small risks is a road no ethical scientist should walk down.”
The group added that the vast majority of children who contracted Covid-19 made full recoveries.
The spokesman said: “Covid is estimated by the CDC to have an overall recovery rate of 99.8 per cent – similar to flu – and 99.98 per cent for ages under 50.
“We are still learning what the long-term effects of these shots will be to our children, if they will affect our children’s fertility, if they will cause cancers.”
He asked: “Since the risk of Covid-19 to children is minimal, at best, why risk potential damage to their long-term health and development on an experimental mRNA injection that we are still learning about and has already caused injury and possibly death in the adult population?
The group earlier claimed that public safety regulations discriminated against people who had not had the vaccine.
