Reminder on strict new quarantine rules
Strict new quarantine rules that came into force were today outlined by the national security ministry.
All non-immunised travellers will be put in a 14-day mandatory quarantine at an authorised hotel at their own expense, unless they can get an exemption.
Arrivals without full vaccination will be transported from the airport to their hotel in Government transport.
A ministry spokeswoman said no stops will be allowed en route to the hotel or guesthouse.
She added: “Upon arrival at the hotel or guesthouse, travellers will be greeted by a Government representative and given a welcome letter from the Government.
“Once their reservation is confirmed, they will be directed to check in at the hotel or guest house’s front desk.
“After the check-in process is complete, travellers will be escorted to their rooms.”
The spokeswoman emphasised: “Guests must remain in their rooms at all times, except for pre-arranged activities, that is, walks and other outdoors activities.”
She said that Government officials would check on those quarantined every day.
The spokeswoman said food could be ordered and would be delivered to guests’ rooms.
She added: “A daily schedule, including the staff duty roster and the activities will be made available to all guests during their 14-day stay.”
The spokeswoman said that if all coronavirus tests come back clear, guests will be allowed to check out.
She added: “The checkout process will be coordinated by the Government representative.
“Guests will be responsible for their own transportation, including costs, to their respective residence or accommodation.”
There are seven hotels approved by the Government:
• Coco Reef Resort
• Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa
• Hamilton Princess & Beach Club
• Willowbank Resort
• Coral Beach and Tennis Club
• Rosemont Guest Suites
• Fairmont Southampton – after June 24
