Healthy heart talk to be held this week
A free virtual heart health forum for men and women will be held today by a charitable sorority group.
But the Sigma Xi Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority appealed to participants to donate to the Bermuda Heart Foundation to help cut incidence of heart problems, the biggest cause of death in Bermuda.
A spokeswoman said the forum, timed to be held close Valentine’s Day, would be “captivating and informative for all ages”.
The public can sign up for the event here or through the QR code on the flyer.
The forum will be held today from 6pm to 7.15pm.
The Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority was founded in 1908 at the elite historically Black Howard University in the US in 1908 and was the first Black Greek sorority.
The Sigma Xi Omega Chapter was set up as a charity in Bermuda in 1990 by sorority members who returned after their studies.
