Event this evening aimed at strengthening ‘support offered to those in our community’

Healthcare providers, educators and legal professionals are being invited to an open house by psychological and psychiatric treatment centre Solstice.

The event, being held today from 5pm to 7pm, is an effort to “help strengthen the supports offered to those in our community”.

Kelly Madeiros, director at Solstice, said: “Solstice has seen an increase in the complexity and severity of mental health issues in the Bermuda community, especially over the last two years.

“We knew that anyone working in healthcare or educational settings would also be experiencing an increase in mental health presentations in their clients.

“At Solstice we believe that by working together collaboratively, we can truly make a difference in our community.”

In light of a rise in mental health challenges in the education system, Solstice has also has invited school counsellors and educators to monthly training sessions and supervisions.
