Rain failed to dampen spirits or numbers at the 35th Annual Pals Walk with hundreds of people taking to the Railway Trail to raise money for the cancer charity.

Colleen English DeGrilla, the executive director of Pals, said: “It was an amazing event. The turnout was great.

“I wouldn't know yet how much we raised but I know we more than doubled our number of registrants.”

This year’s event, last weekend, was was supported by Clarien Bank and CG Insurance, which served as the lead sponsors, along with supporting sponsor Butterfield & Vallis.

Donations raised through the event are used to ensure that cancer patients and their families can access crucial support free of charge.
