Award for ‘devoted and hard-working’ public health officer
A “devoted and hard-working” public health worker has been selected as May’s recipient of a government award.
Freddie Lambert was presented with May’s Public Service Excellence Award by the Deputy Premier, Walter Roban, and the Head of the Public Service, Derrick Binns.
The PSEA is a programme that recognises public officers “who are demonstrating admirable service delivery”.
Each month an individual or team is selected for their significant accomplishments in the past 60 days.
“Ms Lambert has been a devoted and hard-working public health worker for many years, providing exceptional services to the people of Bermuda,” said a government spokeswoman.
“Whether she is working in the Department of Health clinic, assisting at a health promotion in the community, working as a nurse’s assistant in patients’ homes, or providing home cleaning support to those with exceptional circumstances, Ms Lambert demonstrates admirable dedication and commitment to her work.
“Additionally, Ms Lambert has gone above and beyond when it comes to her elderly clients, to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
“Her care and attention to detail have earned her the respect and admiration of the nursing staff, who feel she is an invaluable asset to the Department of Health.”
Mr Roban said: “It was heartwarming to hear Ms Lambert’s colleagues describe her compassion, kindness and selflessness towards her patients and all those she works with.”
Dr Binns added: “On behalf of the Public Service, it is my sincere pleasure to congratulate Ms Lambert on receiving this month’s award. We are deeply grateful for her unwavering commitment to serving the people of Bermuda, and we are truly honoured to be able to recognise her hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for service excellence.
“Thank you for always giving 100 per cent of yourself to every task, Ms Lambert, and congratulations on this extraordinary accomplishment.”
