Healthcare professionals will discuss alternative ways to care for one’s health so that individuals can make informed health choices.

The forum, which launched on Saturday, is being held by the non-profit group Collective Action Solidarity Trust to offer the public an eclectic understanding of wellness and health.

Eugene Dean, the head of Cast, said: “If this pandemic has shown us something, it’s that we have to take responsibility for our health.

“Doctors are not here to make decisions for us — they’re here to give us options and it is on us to make a choice.”

Christina Parks, a molecular biologist with a PhD from the University of Michigan, yesterday discussed how to navigate a child’s recommended immunisation schedules during an event at BUEI.

Dr Parks and paediatrician Elizabeth Mumper will also discuss how to improve health by managing stress and avoiding the toxins that people are exposed to on a daily basis.

The lecture will take place at St Paul AME Church on Victoria Street in Hamilton at 6pm.

Cast’s forum will end on Wednesday with a special session for health professionals at BUEI from 3pm to 6pm.

General admission is $25 and patron tickets are $50 for each forum.

Patrons get access to VIP receptions, preferred seating and express entry.

The all-access pass, which includes tickets to the opening event on Uber Vida and patron tickets to all forums, is $150.
