Cancer and Health Centre staff take refresher course
Staff at the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre have recently honed their skills by completing a refresher course to help improve mammogram efficiency.
A spokeswoman for the cancer charity said its team of technologists took a refresher course in mammography positioning training with mammography educators to equip them with “the latest techniques and methodologies”, including the Miller Method, to enhance the care they offer.
The Miller Method, developed by Louise C Miller, focuses on proficient mammography positioning to improve accuracy, reduce positioning errors and improve diagnostic quality.
A spokeswoman for the charity said: “By maintaining proper body ergonomics, our technologists also ensure longevity in their careers while minimising the risk of injuries.
“This commitment to ergonomic practices not only benefits our dedicated technologists but also leads to an overall improved experience for our valued patients.
“Completing this advanced training marks a significant milestone for our team, further solidifying their expertise in mammography positioning and reinforcing their commitment to excellence.”
The spokeswoman added that the training would help technologists at the charity provide accurate and precise screenings, which will help ensure early detection and better outcomes for patients.
Rona Donowa, chief technologist at the centre, said: “We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to our patients,
“By investing in the professional development of our team and adopting the Miller Method, we aim to elevate the level of care we deliver and reinforce our commitment to patient satisfaction and wellbeing.”
