Training session launched for long-term carers

Long-term carers have been invited to take part in a training programme.

Age Concern and the Bermuda Long-Term Care Peer Learning Network have asked people interested to attend a session at Admiralty House, Pembroke, between 1pm and 3pm on July 31.

The talk will be presented by therapists from the Physio and Occupational Therapy unit of the Department of Health.

The session is part of a series of education opportunities planned for long-term care professionals, including nurses, nursing assistants and related support staff.

Claudette Fleming, of Age Concern, said: “Training topics have been endorsed by the BPLN executive and topics have been created in consultation with the Bermuda Health Council.”

Dr Fleming added: “The aim is to also have the sessions approved by the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council, when sessions are targeted toward nursing professionals.”
