The community is being invited to join a new 5K family fun walk in aid of an autism charity.

Tomorrow’s Voices has launched the Move Your Feet for Autism event, which is scheduled to take place on October 29.

The event will take place from 2pm at the charity’s facility at the former TN Tatem Middle School in Warwick.

A spokeswoman said: “Along with the 5K route, which will take in parts of the nearby Railway Trail, there will also be a lap course around the field for those families with young children or who require more gentle terrain.

“There is also the option to join the event virtually.

“All proceeds from the event will go towards much needed funds for the charity’s Autism Centre and the services it provides within the community, as well as broadening awareness of the autism spectrum and other developmental challenges that affect families in Bermuda.”

Registration will take place through racedayworld.com and the registration fee is $30 for adults and $15 for children between 6 and 16 years old.

The first 450 participants will receive a celebratory walk kit on a first come first served basis and all registered children wearing Hallowe’en costumes will be entered in a draw to win a prize.

There will also be a prize draw for participants who bring in pledges of more than $100. Kit pick-up will take place on Friday, October 27 from 4pm to 6pm and Saturday, October 28 from 12pm to 2pm.

After the walk there will be a family fun day on the TN Tatem field with fun castles, music by DJ Fury, vendors and the Tomorrow’s Voices information booth selling treats made by Tomorrow’s Voices Thriving Beyond 21 adult clients.
