Flu vaccine walk-in clinics being held
There will be two final Flu Express walk-in clinics this month, the Ministry of Health has said.
They will be held at the Hamilton Health Centre on November 25 from 9am to 1pm and November 29 from 2pm to 6pm.
A ministry spokeswoman said: “The seasonal influenza vaccine is available for priority groups through their doctor or the Flu Express.
“The Flu Express is for persons 12 years and older. The cost is $20 per shot for adults and children ― payments can be made using cash, card or online. Seniors of 65 and older are free.”
Members of the public can fill out the consent form and pay online for the flu vaccine to minimise paperwork on arrival and reduce wait times by visiting forms.gov.bm/Influenza-Vaccine-Consent.
An e-mail will be sent to those registering and is required to be shown on arrival at the clinic. Anyone who is unable to complete the consent form online can do so at the Flu Express location.
Questions about the flu shot can be directed a healthcare professional or by calling the Department of Health on 278-6452.
• Healthcare workers, caregivers and essential service workers
• Persons aged 65 years and older
• Anyone with chronic medical conditions that are at risk of complications from the flu, such as diabetics, asthmatics and those with heart disease. They should inform their doctor when they have been vaccinated.
• Children under 12 should attend their usual doctor’s office for vaccination.
