‘No specific time frame’ for Covid-19 boosters in Bermuda
A date has yet to be confirmed for the arrival of Covid-19 boosters on the island, the Minister of Health said yesterday.
Kim Wilson added that as soon as the vaccines are in Bermuda, efforts will be made to make sure they are available as quickly as possible.
She said in November that the ministry was working with the British Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office to get booster doses and aimed to have them on offer this month.
The Government insisted yesterday that the FCDO “confirmed the top-priority status of booster vaccinations for Bermuda”.
It added: “Despite unavoidable delays experienced for all UK Overseas Territories, including Bermuda, dedicated efforts are under way to expedite the delivery of Covid-19 boosters.”
Ms Wilson said: “Logistical arrangements have been made to facilitate the prompt arrival of boosters in Bermuda.
“However, no specific time frame has been confirmed as of now.
“Upon receipt of the vaccines, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and the Department of Health will collaborate to ensure they are available in the shortest possible time frame.”
