Wesley Miller retires from hospitals board
Wesley Miller, the Chief of Staff at the Bermuda Hospitals Board, has retired from the position.
Anna Neilson-Williams, the Chief of Psychiatry, will act as Chief of Staff.
“The Bermuda Hospitals Board wishes to thank Dr Miller for his service and to wish him well in his return to private practice,” the BHB said.
The news was earlier reported by TNN and the board said it had “already started the process of recruiting for Dr Miller's replacement and will provide an update as soon as possible”.
“We wish Dr Miller every success in his future endeavours,” the BHB said.
Dr Miller became Chief of Staff in December 2020, succeeding Michael Richmond.
Before his appointment, Dr Miller served as the BHB’s Chief of Surgery from 2007.
At the time of his appointment, a BHB spokeswoman said that Dr Miller “offered a wide range of services including paediatric and adult ear, nose and throat procedures, sleep studies, allergy testing and management, and the evaluation and management of chronic obstructive airway disease and asthma”.
Dr Miller is the managing director at ENT Health Practice Limited, a private medical facility in Hamilton.
Its website says that Dr Miller mentors medical students, physiotherapy students and nurses at the BHB.
Earlier in his career, the surgeon and consultant worked in Jamaica and Britain.
He was recruited to work as an ENT specialist in 1996 in Bermuda.
