The second of a series of panel discussions tackling mental health is to take place on Monday at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

After the success of the first event, the Department of Health will host Let’s Talk Mental Health Part 2.

Kim Wilson, the health minister, said that the first talk exceeded expectations and left attendees “energised, inspired and eager for more”.

She added: “We invite you to join us for another compelling event.

“This time, our panel of mental health professionals will dive into the critical topic of mental health across different stages of life.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of an engaging and insightful conversation that promises to be just as impactful as the last.”

Ms Wilson said: “The Bermuda Government is committed to programmes to address mental health issues with compassion instead of stigma, and the supplementary estimates announced by the Premier included $2.29 million for the ministry’s mental health support.”

The panel moderator will be Janice George, a registered nurse, the founder of Reset to Reboot and cofounder of My Bermuda Reset.

Experts at the talk include Judith Bruce-Golding, a mental health expert from Britain; Adriene Berkeley, a chartered psychologist and neuroscientist, of Psyneu; Alison Daniels, programme manager for the Childcare Regulations Programme at the Department of Health; and Ernest Peets, the founder MASC.

Ms Wilson added: “This discussion aims to support our community by addressing the stigma surrounding mental health and fostering open, honest conversations.

“I strongly encourage the public to attend this informative panel discussion.

“Maintaining mental health is essential to overall wellness, and this event provides valuable insights that can help everyone take steps towards a healthier, more balanced life.”

Attendance is free but spaces are limited.
