Charity appoints new leader and COO
An experienced oncologist is to become the new chief executive of the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
A charity spokeswoman said Chris Fosker will step into the role in a designate capacity from today and will remain the charity’s medical director.
The spokeswoman explained: “Dr Fosker brings a wealth of expertise in clinical care and this transition marks a natural progression in the centre’s leadership, ensuring continued alignment between clinical and operational excellence.”
Dr Fosker succeeds Lynne Woolridge, who will retire at the end of March after leading BCHC for six years.
He said: “I am honoured to take on this new role and continue building on the strong foundation that Ms Woolridge has established.
“Our focus remains on delivering the highest quality of care to our patients, while advancing our strategic goals to improve cancer outcomes for Bermuda’s residents.”
The spokeswoman added that Katrina Darrell, the organisation’s chief administrative and compliance officer, will become its first chief operations officer today.
She said: “Ms Darrell brings over 15 years of leadership experience, having overseen critical areas such as risk management, compliance, information technology and facilities.”
Ms Darrell explained: “I look forward to working with Dr Fosker and our dedicated team to advance our mission of providing top-quality care and improving Bermuda’s health.
“I am grateful to the board for this opportunity and committed to driving progress.”
Ms Woolridge said: “It has been a privilege to serve as chief executive of BCHC and work alongside an extraordinary team.
“I am confident that our new management team will continue to drive the Centre’s mission and expand our impact in the community.”
