A string of events have been postponed and services closed as a result of the coronavirus.

• Northshore Medical and Aesthetics Centre is open with limited physical interaction. It has launched a virtual consultation platform so patients can still be seen for general consultations and receive information about Covid-19. If patients are well and want to physically come into the office, they will be pre-screened at the entrance: asked questions regarding their current health status and travel history; temperatures will be taken on every patient; if cleared, patient will be asked to sanitise hands prior to sitting in the spaced out waiting area; any guests accompanying the patient will be asked to remain outside unless the patient is a minor or elderly. Call the office on 293-5476 to schedule a virtual consultation with a physician.
• People’s in Victoria Street and at the KEMH Acute Care Wing has introduced dedicated hours for seniors, expectant mothers and immune compromised customers, from 8am to 9am on Wednesdays, and 10am to 11am on Sundays, effective March 21. Apart from those times, it remains open to the public 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 6pm at weekends.
• Burrows, Lightbourn Ltd will cease operations at 6pm today, until April 6. This includes the BLL warehouse, administrative offices, catering services and retail stores in Hamilton and Paget
• Colonial Group International will close its offices on Monday for walk-in business but will continue to service clients without any disruptions. • Staff at the Office of the Auditor-General are working remotely and can be contacted via e-mail and/or phone. Call 296-3148 to speak to any team member. The physical office will be closed until further notice. Work hours will remain the same but the office advised of “the potential that there could be delays in deliverables because of further Covid-19 developments”.
• All Gibbons Company stores are closed.
• The administrative offices of Polaris Holding Company Ltd, on Front Street, and East End Asphalt Ltd, in Duck’s Puddle, Hamilton Parish, will be closed from today, March 20, until further notice. Cargo Services at the Hamilton Docks will continue to operate as normal.
• Atlantic Vision Care will be closed from March 23 until April 6. Anyone with appointments within this time frame will be contacted to have their appointments rescheduled.
• AA Onion Patch will hold its meeting through the Zoom app from 9am until 10am on Saturday, March 21. Contact gordon@circle.bm or 505-3820 to be invited to take part.
• Blueprint Hair Studio has closed.
• The BAC has postponed the annual International Light Tackle Tournament unti 2021.
• HSBC announced that its Church Street branch will temporarily close at close of business on Friday.
The closure will include all teller services, payroll collection, banking appointments and deposit-taking services, including night deposit chutes. These services will now be provided at the HSBC Harbourview branch.
The St George’s and Somerset branches will modify their customer opening hours to 9am to noon from Monday. All operations at these branches will remain business as usual.
The HSBC Harbourview branch in Hamilton will continue to be open from 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, until further notice.
But the bank said for the safety of clients and staff, traffic will be restricted, which will include limiting the number of people on the branch floor at any one time.
The Reid Street entrance will also be closed from Friday until further notice.
• The helping agency Family Centre is moving to remote services to continue caring for its clients, while adhering to health guidelines for clients and staff. This will take effect as of Friday. Families will be able to receive therapeutic care by remote access, the charity advised.
• Orchid Nail Spa has announced it will close at the end of business on Friday, and reopening on April 3.
• World on Wireless in the Washington Mall is closed to walk-in customers. Call 292-1969 or e-mail info@wow.bm or billing@wow.bm. WOW will waive late fees and penalties and suspend disconnections for residential customers and small business customers who have been adversely financially impacted by Covid-19.
• Staff from the Office for the Ombudsman are available to the public via phone or e-mail to receive any questions, concerns, complaints or share information. • Flanagans Irish Pub and Restaurant has closed but Chris Garland, general manager, said takeout will be available at both The Snug Cafe and Divots through takeout windows at the restaurants.
• Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and its gift shop has closed to the public today. It is expected to reopen on April 6.
• The Transport Control Department is closed to walk-in customers. People required to renew their private vehicle licenses by March 31 can contact their insurance provider online or by phone or visit etcd.gov.bm/index_ssl.htm. The period to renew a heavy truck license has been extended to April 30.
• Heard Chapel AME Church has cancelled Bible study until further notice.
• The Spring Flea Market Bright Temple AME Church on March 28 has been postponed.
• The Salvation Army St George’s Corps Gospel Concert scheduled for March 27 has been postponed.
• Starting tomorrow, all MarketPlace stores open 8am and close 8pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. On Tuesdays and Fridays, stores open 7am for seniors. On Sundays, hours remain 9am to 7pm
• The Regulatory Authority will close its offices from today until further notice.
• Christ Church Warwick has cancelled their services set for March 22 and 29 until further notice.
• Clarien Bank has closed its Paget branch until further notice. Operations have been centralised to its main branch in Hamilton, which will be open from 8:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday until further notice. The bank asked that clients limit visits to the Hamilton branch to urgent transactions only that cannot be completed online or at an ATM.
• The National Sports Centre will close to the public from 3pm today, Thursday, March 19. It was not known how long the closure would be in effect and the centre said it would follow Government advice and “reopen only when it is deemed safe to do so”.
• The AG Show, which had been scheduled to take place from April 23 to April 25, has been cancelled.
• The Cake Shop will cease walk-in customer sales beginning on March 19 at 3pm. Curbside shopping will be offered for customers who place orders online or by telephone.
• Par-la-Ville Dental will be closed as on March 19. Patients that will need to have appointments cancelled will be notified.
• The Bermuda Gas Customer Service Centre in Washington Mall is closed to walk-in customers until further notice. Customers will be required to make payments via telephone or online banking. Cash payments will not be accepted until further notice.
• The Bermuda Housing Trust, which has 194 senior tenants living in five properties, called off face-to-face meeting and encouraged social distancing, urging for visits to be kept to a minimum.
The BHT suspended all in-person office visits and asked family members to assist tenants by making rental payments online or “in any way that works best for them”.

• The annual Night of Poetry and Song, scheduled to be held on Saturday at the Goodwin C. Smith Hall, Heritage Worship Centre, Dundonald Street, Hamilton, on Saturday, has been postponed.
• The Bermuda Post Office advised that incoming and outgoing mail from North America will be delayed due to commercial airline flight cancellations.
• Bermuda Hospitals Board is moving to an appointment-only system for routine Imaging Services and Lab tests today. This does not affect diagnostics for patients referred through KEMH or MWI inpatient or Emergency care. To make an appointment, call 239-2032 for Laboratory appointments (blood and urine tests), 239-1144 for Imaging Services X-ray, CT, MRI; 239-1223 for Ultrasound, Mammography and Nuclear Medicine; and 239-1416 for the Cardiac Diagnostic Unit. For appointments made days or weeks in advance, patients are asked to call before turning up if they have any symptoms such as fever, dry cough or difficulty breathing.
• The Hospitals Auxiliary of Bermuda will restrict service in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Pink Café to takeaway only starting on Thursday 19 March, 2020. The HAB Gift Shop at KEMH will close on Saturdays until further notice. The Barn will be open its regular operating hours.
• The Argus Group today will close its offices to walk-in traffic from 5pm on Wednesday, and will serve customers exclusively through phone, e-mail and online. Call the customer service centre on 298-0888 between 8.30am and 5pm or e-mail insurance@argus.bm. Customers are requested to make payments via online banking or by calling the customer service centre to process payments by card or to discuss billing alternatives. Pensions and health members, corporate clients and personal motor policy holders are encouraged to register for an online account at argus.bm/vantage, to gain access to policy information and a number of self-service tools. Argus Health will cover phone and online video telemedicine calls for eligible members in alignment with guidance from the Bermuda Health Council for a 60-day period. Argus Health clients are reminded that they may obtain refills of prescribed medications from pharmacies up to a 90-day supply. • Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is closed. Homer’s Café is filling takeout orders with a limited menu. Call 299-4001. Art classes are cancelled until further notice.
• Bermuda Red Cross has suspended its thrift shop, equipment rental and training until March 31. The thrift shop will not be accepting donations. People registered for training in April through June will be advised when it resumes. • The United States Consulate General is open and available for American citizen services, but all routine non-immigrant visa appointments will be cancelled until further notice. Anyone with an urgent matter who needs to travel immediately should e-mail the Consulate at hamiltonconsulate@state.gov to request an emergency appointment. Anyone with questions can call the Consulate at 705-0424, Monday to Friday, between 2pm and 4pm. For emergency purposes out of hours, call 335-3828.
• Family Centre, the helping agency based in Hamilton, will stay open but require “everyone without exception” to clean their hands upon entering the building, using hand sanitiser or soap and water.
Business travel for staff was suspended, and the charity has stepped up disinfecting surfaces, also asking staff, clients and guests to avoid touching their face, eyes, and mouth to prevent germ transmission.
Anyone feeling unwell was asked to get medical instruction before entering Family Centre’s office.
• Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation has closed for “an unknown period”, and cancelled the Garden Jubilee on Sunday, along with the Sticks and Stones Camp later this month and in April.
• American Airlines and WestJet are temporarily suspending flights to the island, effective immediately, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
AA inbound flights to and from Bermuda from Miami and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport are suspended through March 23 with service expected to resume March 24.
WestJet is suspending commercial service for all international flights, including to and from Toronto to Bermuda, for 30 days starting midnight this Sunday.
Remaining outbound flights tomorrow, March 18, for travellers wishing to depart the island are:
• Air Canada to Toronto departing at 2.15pm
• British Airways to London Gatwick departing at 8.55pm
• Delta to Atlanta departing at 3.45pm
• Delta to Boston departing at 2.30pm
• Delta to New York JFK departing at 1pm
A transport spokesman added: “Travellers are reminded that despite these flight suspensions, American Airlines continues to provide weekly service from Philadelphia and LaGuardia (NYC) on Saturdays only, and Air Canada continues providing service between Bermuda and Toronto on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.”
• Open Airways have postponed their healthcare professional Respiratory Workshops, scheduled for mid-April, with hopes to reschedule in the autumn.
• The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute is closing its Discovery Centre, gift shop and tram, effective today, for “a minimum of two weeks”, with lectures and films also called off.
A spokeswoman added: “We do not take this decision lightly, and are taking action following the recommendations of the Bermuda Government, the Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation, who have all advised that social distancing is critical to preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
• Rosedon Hotel in Pembroke announced it would be closing call hotel operations tomorrow because of the requirement of a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all arriving passengers as of today.
The hotel’s Huckleberry Restaurant will cease on-site dining tomorrow, switching to a drive-through/takeout service called Huckleberry@Home, seven days a week, 11am to 8pm.
• The Bermuda Health Council is offering a lunchtime learning sessions with physicians, dentists, dietitians and health experts to help educate the community on the best ways to stay protected from coronavirus with their current health condition, starting with 12.30pm to 1.30pm with a first session on how parents can help their children stay protected and healthy from Coronavirus.
Sylvanus Nawab of Edgewood Paediatric Services will provide concrete steps that parents can take right now.
• Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation has been closed “for an unknown period”. The shutdown includes cancellation of classes from and including Tuesday, March 17; the Garden Jubilee on Sunday, March 22; the Sticks and Stones Camp between March 30 and April 3, and between April 6 and 9.
• The Bermuda National Trust has closed Trust museums, cancelled Trust spring vacation camps, and will make an announcement in due course. An announcement will be made on the Palm Sunday Walk scheduled for Sunday, April 5 — and the Trust office at “Waterville” remains open, with work continuing on the charity’s gardens, nature reserves and historic properties.
• The Cybertips Team’s Safer internet Day for Seniors The Rise of the Silver Surfer, scheduled for March 23, has been postponed. The team said it was “very mindful of the stress and worry” experienced by the community in the face of Covid-19, especially seniors, and asked people to follow Government guidelines. The Cybertips team said a revised date for the event will be announced “once it has been deemed safe to do so”.
• The Information Commissioner’s Office has moved to a remote work environment. Deliveries to the office must be scheduled by calling 543-3700 or by e-mailing info@ico.bm. • Bus services will be on hold between 10.30am and 1pm on Wednesday, March 18, to allow for meetings with Department of Public Transportation staff to discuss matters relating to Covid-19. A Government spokesman said: “The ultimate goal is to ensure all staff are prepared and able to confidently serve the public in any eventuality.” The DPT apologised for any inconvenience.
• The 2019—20 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will be postponed until next year.
• Bermuda Society of Arts has closed its doors to the public from today.
• Kindermusik with Suzanne will not be holding classes for the next two weeks before the scheduled Easter break. Members will receive an e-mail suggesting activities they can do at home. New at-home classes will begin next week.
• BF&M offices will close from Wednesday to walk-in customers, but remain open for business by phone and online.
• Saltus will move to a “virtual learning platform” starting tomorrow, March 17. Attendance and all classes will continue remotely until further notice. Non-essential visitors to Saltus’ campuses will be discouraged while vendors/suppliers to the school may conduct business as usual.
• The National Museum of Bermuda will temporarily close effective tomorrow. Elena Strong, executive director, said: “You can stay connected with us through our recently launched blog, our online members magazine Maritimes and our social media platforms. We will be regularly sharing new material to keep you connected to Bermuda’s past.”
• The TLC Group has postponed its “Practical Steps for Data Privacy and Cybersecurity” course scheduled for Tuesday at the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation until further notice. The “Covid-19 Impacts to Bermuda Business Operations and Technology” scheduled for Thursday at Cranleigh will be held remotely via webinar. • The Menuhin Foundation is suspending all group classes, private lessons and orchestras from Tuesday, and is cancelling its Spring Concert which was originally scheduled for Saturday.
• Fight Night Champion has been postponed until August 15 by Epic Entertainment.
• The Bermuda National Gallery will be temporarily closed from 4pm today. The BNG will be focusing on its digital output on Instagram at @bermuda_nationalgallery and on Facebook at @bermuda.nationalgallery.
• Natural Movement has suspended the remainder of Monday and Tuesday in-studio classes. Private clients or yoga clients can access online classes via www.yogawithkallie.thinkific.com.
• An Evensong church service to celebrate the City of Hamilton’s 225-year anniversary on March 22, an Unsheltered Awareness Week to be hosted by the City from March 22 to 27, the City Scavenger Hunt scheduled for April 5 and the Bermuda International Town Crier Competition scheduled for April 22 to 24 have all been postponed. City services had not been affected by 2.30pm on Monday.
• Vision Bermuda — formerly the Bermuda Society for the Blind — have suspended all group activities and non-urgent home visits until further notice
• The Bermuda College remains open.
• The Bermuda National Gallery will be temporarily closed from 4pm today. A spokeswoman said the gallery will focus on our digital output to inspire Bermuda’s community through art, culture and dialogue on Instagram at @bermuda_nationalgallery and on Facebook at @bermuda.nationalgallery.
• The Portuguese School of Bermuda is closed with immediate effect until further notice. Vasco da Gama Club has closed its bar and suspended all club activities until Sunday, March 29, when it will re-evaluate the situation and advise of further closures, if any.
• The Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society has closed the Daylesford Bar and Theatre effective today. All upcoming BMDS events are postponed and may be cancelled.
• All activities listed for Grace Methodist Church are suspended until further notice.
• The Bermuda Hospitals Board has suspended elective surgeries. Emergency and urgent surgeries, including surgery for cancer, will continue.
• Saving Children and Revealing Secrets, or Scars, has postponed its monthly community training sessions until further notice because the Argus building, where they are held, has been closed to external meetings.
• Bermuda Bridge Club has closed until further notice.
• Meetings of permitted refrigerant handlers, scheduled for March 18, 25 and 26 at Bermuda College, have been postponed until further notice. All existing permits that were due to expire have had their effective expiry date extended to July 31. E-mail pollutioncontrol@gov.bm with any questions.
• The Art of You Women’s Transformation Series, scheduled for March 20 to 22 at the Elbow Beach Resort and Hotel, has been postponed.
• Bermuda Zoological Society staff will be working from home and online for normal business. The administrative offices of the BZS at BAMZ will be temporarily closed from 5pm today until April 1. Schools programmes, whale watching and Wild Encounters have been closed until the end of March, spring camp is under advisement, Zoom Around the Sound has been rescheduled to September 5 and the gift shop is closed until further notice.
• The Bermuda National Gallery’s ARTReach for Education Gala, originally scheduled for March 21, has been postponed. The Bermuda National Gallery remains open with additional sanitising measures in place.
• The Video Game Design Challenge, originally scheduled for March 27 and 28, has been postponed until later this year.
• Bermuda High School for Girls will be closed at the end of today for “an unknown period of time” after a secondary school pupil was screened for Covid-19.
• A planning hearing for the Commission of Inquiry into historic losses of property, which was due to be held on Thursday, has been adjourned. The date and place of the rescheduled hearing, as well as the dates of subsequent substantive hearings, will be decided once concerns about public health and wellbeing have abated. People who wish to have party status, but have not yet filed an application, can do so in writing before April 30.
• The Skyport Magic Mile, organised by the Bermuda Pacers Track Club and sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletics Association, which was due to be held next Saturday, has been cancelled. Participants who registered for this year will be automatically entered for next year.
• Valencia and Next Generation Flanagan Onions have cancelled training until further notice.
• The zoo section at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo has closed to the public from today through April 30.
• Somersfield Academy has cancelled the upper primary and IB sports day which was due to take place on Tuesday.
• FryDays Trampoline Park continues to operate normal weekend hours, with extended hours for the upcoming school break. Cleaning and sanitising has been stepped up, and no more than 50 people are allowed in the facility at one time. Anyone with cold or flu symptoms should stay away.?• Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre remains open for diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy appointments, but people with coughs, fever or shortness of breath are urged to contact their GP for advice and can reschedule for a future date. Radiation therapy patients should call RT directly on 236-7035 to discuss any health concerns.
• The Bermuda International Film Festival, scheduled for Speciality Cinema between March 20 and 26, has been postponed until a date later in 2020. Organisers will issue refunds to people who bought film tickets with credit cards. Anyone who bought tickets with cash can visit the Ptix office at 29 Front Street for a refund.
• Home school classes at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo have been cancelled for the next two weeks.
• The Tourism Outlook Forum, due to take place at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on Monday, has been converted to a free, live webinar.
• Somerset School of Dancing’s mini performance, Chorus Line, will not proceed next Saturday. The rehearsal scheduled for Friday has also been called off. Classes will run as normal.
• Vasco da Gama Club will hold no events with 50 people or more until further notice. The Festa do Frango, featuring a performance by Rosinha, will be postponed to October 17. Anyone who has already bought their ticket can keep it for the new date. For reimbursement, contact the executive board.
• The march to the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church and funeral service for Glenn Simmons will take place as originally planned on Sunday. The Bermuda Industrial Union advised that anyone feeling sick or unwell should not attend. People that do attend are advised against hugging, kissing or other body contact.
• The Orchid Charity Club to place has postponed its annual St Patrick’s Day Tea, which was scheduled to take place next Sunday at the Leopards Club, until further notice.
• MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda, which was due to be held from April 17 to 19, has been postponed after the sport’s world governing body declared that all activities will be suspended until April 30.
• The Seventh-Day Adventist Church has announced that it will cancel all gatherings of more than 50 people for the next four weeks in line with Government recommendations.
The Church will live stream the final presentation of Alanzo Smith of the Family Enrichment Series at 11am today at https://bermudaconference.adventistchurch.org/live-stream.
• The Ministry of Labour, Community Affairs and Sport has confirmed that the Premier’s Concert and the Sports Awards, scheduled to take place this weekend, have been postponed.
• The Pirates of Bermuda fundraising event for the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, scheduled to take place today, has been postponed.
• The Bermuda Rugby Football Union have suspended all sporting activity, at all levels until at least March 31.
• The National Sports Centre remains open, but those who are ill are asked not to attend the facility and those who use the gym facilities are asked to fully sterilise equipment after use.
• Bermuda Youth Football has cancelled practices for its Under 5 and Under 7 Foundations Programme for the next two weeks.
Information for the U7 players who will be joining the BFA U9 age group next season (players who were born in 2012) will be sent out in the next few weeks regarding the post season programme and club tryouts.
• Norwegian Cruise Line announced “suspension of all cruise voyages embarking between March 13 and April 11, 2020 for its three cruise brands”.
• Tumbletots gymnastics has cancelled all sessions scheduled for tomorrow.
A spokeswoman said: “We want to make sure we do our part to ensure everyone’s safety. We would have been unable to sanitise all equipment before Saturday.”
• The Bermuda Tourism Authority announced that next month’s Courts and Shorts Weekend will be postponed after the United States Tennis Association suspended all its products and events. The organisations hoped to reschedule the weekend for early autumn.
• Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation has advised that any child or member of staff with a fever, or who has missed school due to cold-related illness, must stay home.
• Saltus Grammar School has cancelled three international trips which were planned over the school break.
• BSMART Foundation has cancelled its Saturday drop-in infant and toddler programme until further notice.
• The Bermuda Tourism Authority called off the Transport Museum Fish Fry scheduled for Sunday at Dockyard, stating that “visitor groups we were aiming to attract are no longer travelling to Bermuda”.
• Weekend performances of The Long Run, as part of the Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts, have been cancelled. Ticket holders will receive a credit for a future festival event. Seniors with tickets will have a choice of a refund or a credit for a future festival event.
• The City of Hamilton confirmed its services are operating as normal. Sanitising has been heightened on fixtures like trash bins, crosswalk buttons, car park pay stations and street furniture. The City added: “All public bathrooms are currently sanitised and replenished with soap every two hours. All sanitation vehicles continue to be thoroughly cleaned after each daily pick-up.”

• From March 16, WindReach recreational facility in Warwick will be closed to non-essential business, including Baby Play, playground time and tours with the animals. The shutdown will extend to pre-arranged groups or parties depending on circumstances.
