‘Glad to lend a hand’

Helping hands: Employees of reinsurer Validus who volunteered their labour at WindReach

Employees of Bermuda reinsurer Validus Holdings Ltd rolled up their sleeves to help out at WindReach.In conjunction with The International Red Cross’s “Red, White and Do Day”, they assisted with general maintenance tasks at the therapeutic riding stables of the recreational village, which serves people with physical and intellectual disabilities.WindReach uses horses in a variety of ways to help persons with special needs develop cognitive skills and improve their social, emotional, and physical well-being.Those joining in last Friday included top executives, including Validus Holdings general counsel Jerome Dill, Validus Re chief underwriting officer Kean Driscoll, Validus Re CFO Jeff Sangster and Validus Re COO Pat Reardon.“Validus is extremely proud of its Bermudian roots and is always happy to take advantage of an opportunity to give back to the community,” said Ed Noonan, chairman and CEO of Validus. “Corporate responsibility has been one of the cornerstones of our business and we are proud sponsors of many local initiatives and organisations. As an ongoing sponsor of WindReach, we are glad to lend a hand to such a tremendous cause.
