Former Bermuda company to create 100 jobs in Ireland

Former Bermuda IT consultancy firm Accenture is set to create 100 jobs in Dublin according top a report in an Irish newspaper.The Irish Independent reported that the company, which moved its corporate headquarters from Bermuda to Dublin in 2009, will hire 100 graduates and experienced specialists as it expands its operations helping clients to cut costs, increase efficiencies and support growth nationwide.These new jobs come on top of an earlier four-year programme to recruit 100 staff announced in November at a research and innovation centre that the company opened in Dublin last year.The company currently employs more than 1,300 people in Ireland, with a global workforce of more than 240,000 and its international client base includes the majority of the Fortune 500 companies.Accenture announced on May 26, 2009 that its board of directors had unanimously approved changing the company’s place of incorporation to Ireland from Bermuda and would become Accenture plc.The company cited several reasons for the move including Ireland’s sophisticated, well-developed corporate, legal and regulatory environment; the country’s long history of international investment and long-established commercial relationships, trade agreements and tax treaties with European Union member states, the US and other countries where it does business, and Ireland’s stable political and economic environment with the financial and legal infrastructure to meet its needsThe change was approved and became effective on September 1, 2009.Mark Ryan, country managing director of Accenture in Ireland, said: “We offer unparalleled opportunities in an environment that supports the professional growth of our employees and allows them to work on leading edge business and technology issues facing our clients.“For these new positions, we are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals passionate about and skilled in technology.”The new roles will be available for experts in Java, SAP, cloud computing, mobility and workplace collaboration technologies.
