Schrum to present in Monte Carlo
Appleby Bermuda partner Vanessa Schrum is to give a presentation on asset protection trusts at the 2019 International Tax Planning Association conference in Monte Carlo, October 2 to 4.
Ms Schrum’s presentation, “Asset Protection Trusts – The Bermuda Aspect”, will discuss the island’s asset protection trusts legislation and its benefits, the law firm said. She will also review cases and discuss latest developments.
She is one of only ten presenters at the invitation-only conference, the firm said, adding that Ms Schrum’s presentation will be published in an upcoming ITPA journal.
The ITPA is a multidisciplinary association of bankers, trust officers, finance directors, accountants, lawyers and others with a practical interest in the tax aspects of cross-frontier transactions, Appleby said.
The organisation offers three conferences annually covering critical issues pertaining to management, taxation, commerce and tax planning.
Ms Schrum is a partner and group head of the private client and trusts department in Bermuda. She is a member of ITPA, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and sits on the Bermuda trusts law reform committee.
