Gina Pereira joins Meritus Trust
Trust and fiduciary service provider Meritus Trust Company Ltd has recruited Bermudian Gina Pereira for the newly-created role of philanthropic fiduciary director.
Ms Pereira, the founder and chief executive officer of Dana Philanthropy, joined Meritus on March 1.
She has 20 years of experience in providing legal and advisory support in international trusts and estate planning and administration, philanthropy, and sustainable and impact investing, to private clients globally, Meritus said.
Dana Philanthropy received the STEP Private Client Award for Philanthropy Advisory Team of the Year in 2018-2019.
In her new role, Meritus said Ms Pereira will introduce philanthropy, sustainable, and impact investing advisory services to the platform to complement the current trust and corporate fiduciary offering.
Michelle Wolfe, managing director and co-founder of Meritus, said: “Our role as trusted advisers is to help our client-families to meet their current needs and to plan for the future. We strive to support them in aligning their planning with their values and having a meaningful positive impact on the world. Gina’s expertise and passion will help us to reach the next level of our aspirations.”
Ms Pereira said: “I am very excited to join the team. Willing to ’walk the talk’, Meritus’ leadership is committed to embedding stewardship principles into their core business model, setting them apart as action-driven thought leaders aligned with contemporary society’s needs.
“I am also delighted to return home to Bermuda and to contribute to the country’s growth and expansion as a centre of excellence in the private client sector.”
