Valaris reports two-well contract extension

Bermudian-based Valaris Ltd, the offshore drilling services outfit, has been awarded a two-well contract extension with Equinor Energy AS offshore Norway.
The company said the contract is for Valaris JU-291 (Stavanger), a heavy-duty ultra-harsh environment jack-up.
The extension is for an estimated 120 days in direct continuation of the existing contract and, as a result, the company said the Valaris JU-291 is now expected to be under contract through February 2022.
Valaris operates a diverse rig fleet of 11 ultra-deepwater drillships, five semi-submersibles and 44 shallow-water jack-ups across six continents.
