Valaris wins 16-well contract with Woodside Australia

Bermudian-based Valaris Ltd, the offshore drilling services outfit, has been awarded a 16-well contract with Woodside offshore Australia for the semi-submersible, Valaris DPS-1.

The company said the contract is expected to commence late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of 2022 with an estimated duration of 300 days.

Valaris has also been awarded a 183-day extension to its contract with Aramco for Valaris JU-140, a standard-duty modern jack-up.

The company said the extension is in direct continuation of the existing contract and, as a result, the Valaris JU-140 is now expected to be under contract through the end of 2021.

Valaris operates a rig fleet of 11 ultra-deepwater drillships, five semi-submersibles and 44 shallow-water jack-ups across six continents.
