Business leaders urge action against Covid-19

There is an appeal from local and international business leaders encouraging residents to take protective measures against Covid-19.

The statement said: “The local and international business communities strongly encourage everyone in Bermuda to actively take all recommended measures to protect themselves and others from the Covid-19 virus.

“We support the World Health Organisation’s statement 'there are several safe and effective vaccines that prevent people from getting seriously ill or dying from Covid-19. It is important to be vaccinated as soon as possible’.”

“Everyone benefits in supporting Bermuda and our economy.

“In this challenging and uncertain time, our priority is the safety of the people of Bermuda and our visitors. Although we are all in uncharted waters, there are answers to creating a safer Bermuda.

“If you are able to be vaccinated but have yet to be, because you have questions or concerns about the safety or effectiveness of the vaccines, we encourage you to speak to your healthcare professional.”

ABIC represents more than 110 international companies incorporated in Bermuda.

The statement was supported by the Association of Bermuda International Companies, the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers, the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, the Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers and Reinsurers, the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association, the Bermuda Employers Council and the Bermuda Hotel Association.

ABIC joined with other business leadership to urge residents to take measures to protect themselves from Covid-19
