Perez joins HSCM board
Insurance industry veteran Andre Perez has joined the board of advisers of HSCM Bermuda.
Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd, conducting its re/insurance investment management business as HSCM Bermuda, said Mr Perez has joined the firm as an adviser focused on HSCM Bermuda’s re/insurance strategy.
Mr Perez has spent more than 30 years in the insurance industry and is widely recognised as a significant market innovator.
In 2005, HSCM said, he founded Horseshoe Re and built it into one of the industry’s leading service providers.
Mr Perez served as the chief executive officer of Horseshoe from 2005 until 2021 when he was named chairman, ILS, a position he served in until last month.
In 2021, he was recognised by Trading Risk as its “Outstanding Contributor of the Year”.
Before founding Horseshoe, Mr Perez served as head of office at Alea Bermuda. Before that, he was SVP of Overseas Partners Re Ltd and earlier he served as head of actuarial services at KPMG Bermuda. He began his career at Zurich Canada.
Mr Perez is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds a BSc in mathematics from Université de Montréal.
He said: “I have great respect for the HSCM team and have enjoyed working with them as a key service provider over the past six years. I am thrilled to be joining their board of advisors.”

Mr Perez joins Liz Mitchell, former CEO of Renaissance Re US Inc; David Cash, former CEO of Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd; Rich Carbone, former CFO of Prudential Financial; and Chris Harris, former CEO of Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd on the board of advisers of HSCM Bermuda’s re/insurance strategy.
