BDA to hire a chief operating officer
The Bermuda Business Development Agency is seeking a chief operating officer.
The BDA said that the new COO will be part of its executive team, reporting to the CEO.
An job advertisement on the BDA website says that the successful candidate will “oversee the organisation’s operations and manage internal processes, policies and procedures to achieve overall strategic goals and objectives; support and drive strategic priorities aligned to the CEO’s and board’s vision and guidance; and create, enhance and review operational systems and frameworks that ensure delivery of the strategic plan while maintaining a focus on capital, resources and efficiency.”
The advertisement says: “This is an exciting opportunity to serve your country and join a dynamic and close-knit team dedicated to the important mission of growing and diversifying Bermuda’s economy.”
The closing date for applications is August 26.
The BDA encourages direct investment into the island and helps international companies to start up, relocate or expand their business in Bermuda.
An independent, public-private organisation, the BDA connects prospective businesses to industry professionals such as corporate service providers, regulatory authorities and government officials to facilitate domicile decisions.
A BDA spokesman said: “There has always been a head of operations position at the BDA. Since the role of the current BDA CEO involves frequent travelling for business development meetings, this full-time, Bermuda-based position has been enhanced to include additional executive responsibilities to assist when the CEO is abroad pitching for Bermuda.
“Qualified participants can send their CVs and cover letters to resumes@bda.bm by the deadline of Friday, August 26, 2022.“
