BDA to connect in Las Vegas
The Bermuda Business Development Agency is to send a delegation to the InsureTech Connect event in Las Vegas next week.
BDA chairman Stephen Weinstein will speak on a panel entitled “Commercial Property Insurance: Catastrophic Events and Novel Risks” next Wednesday.
BDA CEO David Hart and senior business development coordinator Korrin Lightbourne will complete the BDA delegation to the September 20-22 event.
Mr Hart said: “It is the perfect time to return to InsureTech Connect, not only for the opportunity to remind attendees that Bermuda remains the world’s risk capital from the stage, but also for the multiple business development opportunities brought about by having an in-person presence at the world’s largest insurtech event.
“We already have multiple meetings in place with various companies and look forward to sharing the advantages of our blue-chip jurisdiction, including Bermuda’s regulatory excellence, impressive human capital, and spirit of innovation.”
Mr Lightbourne added: “I am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to represent Bermuda at InsureTech Connect. Our aim is to inform innovators that the island is the perfect place to beta test new technologies and open the door to new opportunities for the Bermudian workforce.
“Bermuda’s extensive history in re/insurance and burgeoning tech sector make us an ideal choice for insurtechs.”
Upcoming events for the BDA include the fourth annual Bermuda Tech Summit, October 26-28, and the second annual Bermuda Risk Summit being held from March 6-8.
Both events will be held at the Hamilton Princess Hotel and Beach Club.
