Bermudian business owner wins prestigious US award
Bermudian Jodi Covington’s firm, Brand Development Group, has been chosen as one of America’s top 100 small businesses.
She received the recognition from the US Chamber of Commerce and CO–, the Chamber’s digital platform for small businesses.
The Brand Development Group was selected for its exceptional growth, innovative strategies, and strong employee culture. The CO–100 list recognises small businesses from across 31 US states and Washington DC, highlighting those who are driving growth and innovation in their communities and beyond.
The Brand Development Group describes itself as an award-winning marketing group that focuses on brand identity.
It features masters level professionals specialising in integrated marketing, public relations, web development, graphic design, event management, and crisis management.
“It is an incredible honour to be recognised as one of America’s top 100 small businesses by the US Chamber of Commerce,” said Ms Covington, a Georgia resident.
Selected out of 14,000 entrants, she said her company’s recognition was particularly meaningful because of her Bermudian heritage.
“It underscores not only the hard work of our team but also the global impact that Bermudian businesses can have,” she said. “We are excited to continue our mission of innovation and growth, representing Bermuda on an international stage.”
Ms Covington said the award reflects The Brand Development Group’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries and delivering innovative solutions for their clients.
“This honour is not just about our past achievements, but also about the exciting future we are building together,” she said.
Chris Barrow, creative director of The Brand Development Group, said they were proud to be a part of a community that values growth, resilience, and forward-thinking.
“This recognition is a reflection of our team’s collective dedication and passion for excellence,” he said.
“Each member of The Brand Development Group plays a crucial role in driving our success. This achievement highlights our commitment to innovation, creativity, and community impact.”
The CO–100 honourees receive a one-year paid membership to the US Chamber of Commerce, providing unmatched access to top experts, national brand exposure and exclusive networking opportunities.
On October 8, the CO–100 will be celebrated at the US Chamber of Commerce’s headquarters in Washington DC, where honourees will participate in a VIP experience and connect with industry influencers.
During an evening awards dinner, ten businesses will be recognised for outstanding achievement across various categories, with one overall CO–100 top business receiving a grand prize of $25,000.
“As the world’s largest business organisation representing companies of all sizes and industries, we understand what makes a business great,” said Jeanette Mulvey, vice-president and editor-in-chief of CO–.
“The CO–100 founders, owners, entrepreneurs, and employees showcase the exceptional talent and innovation within the American business community,” she said.
