Appleby lawyers recognised
Three Bermuda lawyers are among the seven from Appleby’s global private client & trusts and dispute resolution practices who have been recognised in the 2025 edition of the Private Client Global Elite Directory – a peer-nominated list that highlights exceptional private wealth practitioners from across the industry.
Bermuda partner Claire van Overdijk KC and senior counsel Vanessa Schrum (Bermuda) have been ranked ‘Private Client Global Elite’ – the highest accolade available in the respected ALM and Law.com directory. Also on the list was Cayman partner, Carlos de Serpa Pimentel.
In addition, Caljonah Smith (Bermuda), Jersey partner Sam Williams, Hong Kong counsel Crystal Au-Yeung, and Esmond Brown (Cayman Islands) were all recognised within the ‘Private Client Global Excellence’ category.
Launched in 2017 with the awareness that referrals and recommendations were absolutely key to the private client sector, the Private Client Global Elite Directory, which is limited to the top 250 nominated lawyers, has served as a go-to resource for the world’s leading private client and trust and estates litigation talent, as well as rising stars within the industry.
Appleby’s Private Client & Trusts team advises on all aspects of trust & estates law, including the establishment, administration, restructuring and termination of private, charitable, and commercial trusts and foundations.
The group’s lawyers are frequently instructed by institutional and independent trustees, family offices, high net worth individuals and other blue-chip institutions.
