Belco holds memorial service
Belco employees and family members of former Belco workers gathered yesterday for the company’s annual memorial ceremony to honour employees who died while working for the company.
The ceremony, at the site of the company’s memorial in its west parking lot, is held as part of the company’s Occupational Health and Safety Day.
The employees who lost their lives in service to the company are: James Trice Earl, who died on October 28, 1928; Kenneth Packwood – June 9, 1930; Edward Hall – May 28, 1931; Francis Edward Britton – August 18, 1931; George Edmund Isaac – June 24, 1932; E Brewster – December 4, 1933; Wm. Henry Thorne – October 21, 1938; Manuel Moniz – November 23, 1938; Manuel DeMoura – June 28, 1939; Philip Ray Correia – August 27, 1941; Ernest James Dowling – September 9, 1941; Orion B. Hall – August 15, 1942; Geoffrey Eugene Frith – May 15, 1943; Frank Hassell – October 20, 1947; Robert Henry Ottley – March 21, 1955; Ralf E. Millet – February 9, 1970; Malik Blyden – July 28, 2003.
