Dozens turn out for Hamilton Princess career fair
The Harbourview Room of the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club was busy yesterday as people converged at the venue in search of jobs at the hotel’s career fair.
The hotel had openings for jobs in housekeeping, food and beverage, and the exhale spa.
More than 100 people, a mixture of youth and those with years of experience, visited the fair.
Martin Wyer, the hotel’s director of talent and culture, called the event a “resounding success”.
He added: “We were pleased with the community’s interest in the various roles available at the hotel, and hospitality in general.
“The event was a collaborative effort across hotel departments to recruit new and exciting talent to join the Hamilton Princess family.”
Interviews were conducted on the spot and prospective employees waited to interact with the hotel’s staff after filling out forms.
Two who spoke to The Royal Gazette said they visited the fair because they were unemployed, while others said they wanted a second job.
An employee of the health sector said she used her lunch hour to visit in search of a part-time position.
Another visitor, with experience in the hotel industry, said his interview went well and he was optimistic that the hotel would give him a call.
He had all the necessary documents on hand for his interview.
Among those who visited the fair were senior students in search of part-time posts, including pupils of CedarBridge Academy.
