An application deadline for a work placement scheme run by the Government has been extended by two weeks.

The Ministry of Economy and Labour announced that applications for the 2024 Graduate Apprenticeship Programme must be submitted by October 15.

It said: “This extension provides an additional opportunity for unemployed recent college and university graduates to apply for the programme, which is critical in bridging the gap between academic study and the workforce.

“Since its inception, the programme has assisted 42 graduates in gaining invaluable hands-on experience, developing professional networks and advancing their careers through the ten-week work placements offered by the Department of Workforce Development.

“This initiative remains a vital component of the Government's Economic Development Strategy, especially Strategic Priority No 5, which focuses on youth empowerment and addressing unemployment.”

Graduates were encouraged to apply at dwd.bm/youth-employment-strategy.
