Government seeks tradespeople for training programme

The Department of Workforce Development has urged contractors to sign up for a programme aimed at training the next generation of tradespeople.

The Skills Apprenticeship Programme is focused on “high demand” trades including carpentry, plumbing and masonry, with an information session for interested businesses scheduled for December 16.

A spokesman said: “By partnering with the programme, not only will you help equip Bermudians with the practical skills and hands-on experience needed to excel in these essential industries, but also help the industry and your business.”

He said it would help prepare Bermudians to meet the island’s construction needs while offering benefits to businesses that sign up.

The information session runs from 6pm to 7pm at the Department of Workforce Development’s training room.

Those interested are invited to sign up online at https://form.jotform.com/243316215454855.
