March 27, 2011Dear Sir,The wimpy politicians never cease to amaze me with their small minds and lack of far sight. I don’t hear any politicians addressing the issues what the Salvation Army Major Shawn Critch continue to talk about. The increasing number of homeless and under class (the poor). And how the bread lines or as they say in the US “soup lines” are extending to an alarming number, but who is listening - no one. The Major needs help real fast, not tomorrow - right now. the “spin doctors” are too busy playing “politricks” as opposed to dealing with the social issues.The Mayor of Hamilton needs to be replaced by some one who is tough and gets things done. The City streets are filthy and reeks of urine in some areas. there is begging on the streets. It’s against the law to beg, but where are the police to enforce this law. I was reminded by a few friends due to the shortage of police officers the streets will remain as they are. This is why the Mayor needs to be replaced.GEORGE BURCHERSt. David’s
