April 27, 2011Dear Sir,Good morning from England. I have just read the article in yesterday’s online Gazette regarding the new ferry timetable. In the past we have stayed at Greenbank Cottages and been very well looked after by Cindy Ashton and found the ferry an absolute delight to use.Now however, I see that not only are there no services over the lunchtime period, but also nothing at all at weekends! Did anyone think this through, or has the Government decided that it can rely solely on the business community for income and totally disregard the needs of the tourist industry?The same amount of thought needs to be put into the bus service from Dockyard to Hamilton. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that when a cruise ship is due, it would be a good idea to put extra buses on to service the passengers’ needs.We love your Island and will come back, but please try to make things easier for visitors.PAUL BEANLANDUnited Kingdom
