Stance was callous
April 27, 2011Dear Sir,Premier Cox: This so-called “grit and courage” you claim to be displaying by not taking a pay cut for yourself and your Ministers are the qualities this country needed from you during the Brown administration. Some fiscal prudence then might have kept us in a position where we wouldn’t now need you to even consider lowering your take-home pay. Instead, your current intransigence looks more like childish “you-can’t-make-me” stubbornness. And that’s being kind! My first impression was that your stance was cold, unfeeling, selfish and callous in the extreme. In essence, what you said to your constituents, some of whom have no take-home pay to speak of, is “Poor you, because I’m all right, Jack, and I plan to stay that way!”Not good enough, Madam!GUS DUSTEDPembroke
