May 2, 2011Dear Sir,I tried to watch the Heritage Open Golf Championship the week before last. I would like to have watched it in HD but ZBM broadcast a picture that is barely watchable. It was an exciting tournament but unfortunately I never got to see the end. ZBM decided to suddenly switch to a church service at 7pm in the middle of a playoff! No warning, no break, one minute I am watching two balls on the 18th green, next minute I am in church in Bermuda. No apology, nothing!I understand that ZBM has the rights to CBS in Bermuda but if they are going to decide what part of CBS we are allowed to see then maybe it is time to do something about it. Also the HD broadcast is not available from ZBM, that is a different product, if they cannot broadcast CBS in HD then let someone who can. ZBM is pathetic, the picture is very poor, the sound is abysmal and a completely different level to everything else on cable. We are frequently greeted with either a blank screen or a prolonged ZBM logo.When I arrived here 30 years ago, I used to laugh at the way the TV was here, news brought on a 24 hour ‘SPECIAL’ delay basis (yes we watched yesterday’s news) and TV shows that came on three tapes played in the wrong order! Oh and black screens or a prolonged ZBM logo. It has not changed! ZBM should either get with the times or get out of the TV business. It is totally unacceptable that we should have to put up with this kind of service in the 21st century. Yesterday Cablevision had the Liverpool game on three channels in their guide but only showed it on channel 351 which costs extra and I don’t get. After that the Manchester Utd game started, only to be taken off ten minutes into the game, again despite being in their guide on three channels.GOING BACK TO SATELLITEDevonshire
