OBA cannot be trusted
July 20, 2011Dear Sir,I have heard the saying, “when American sneezes Bermuda catch a cold”. America and so many other countries are experiencing job losses due to greed & the crash on Wall Street. I see the doom and gloom printed daily by OBA. Can they be trusted? In my opinion, no! Let’s go down UBP memory lane (some things the OBA would like you to forget):*UBP lost three elections (under leaders Gordon, Gibbons and Dunkley) with the last one gaining 47 percent of the vote.*Leader Dunkley loses his seat, but is awarded Senate Leadership* No elected MP comes to the forefront to take over leadership* Swan takes over leadership* Furbert, Tucker resign, sit as Independents, now PLP MPs* Pettingill, Hunte, Crockwell resigns, sit as Independents, start new party BDA and now sit as OBA-MPs* ET Richards unsuccessfully challenges Swan for leadership* Dunkley loses Senate Leadership and sulks* Dunkley, Gibbons, Barritt engage in talks with the BDA* Swan suggest a general meeting but gets voted out, with under 70 voting for demise of UBP* Swans apply for injunction to stop demise of UBP* Judge grants injunction to halt demise of UBP* Swan’s father-in-law pass away and while he is off Island Dunkley, Gibbons, Barritt, Simons, Richards, Gordon-Pamplin, Jackson, Moniz resign and start new party OBA* Sometime later, Pettingill, Hunte, Crockwell disband BDA party and join OBAHow can they be trusted? Some say, seems like the same old fox in sheep’s clothing. The PLP has not done a good job of governance, but sorry, I can not trust the OBA either. Looking for the Independents to form themselves, they I can trust, no baggage with Uncle Front Street.NEW VOTERSt George’
