The Bible is clear ...
August 8, 2011Dear Sir,The law which governs man has been systematically built upon the foundations of God’s law since the beginning, i.e. Thou shall not kill, commit adultery, steal, bear false witness. etc. The homosexual community have many words to say about the Human Rights Act, which has biblical principles and how they are not protected by it. Let us see what God’s word says about their ‘lifestyle choice’, which is sexually immoral according to the word of God.Sexual immorality is throughout the Bible. In fact it is so potent, it is the only cause for a husband to divorce his wife (Matthew 5:32). Leviticus 18:6-23 gives multiple examples of sexual immorality and gives clear orders from God to not engage in these activities. Among these sexual immoral exploits are paedophilia, incest, bestiality, and homosexuality. Concerning the latter it is said “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination” (Leviticus 18:22). In the Book of Romans 1:21-32 we see how the children of God became foolish and strayed away from the word of God. Then He allowed them to be overtaken by their sinful desires and sexual impurity. As they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, men and women indulged in unnatural relations, indecent acts and perversions with one another. “The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord” says 1 Corinthians 6:13. Verses 18-19 of 1 Corinthians chp. 6 tells us to flee from sexual immorality and that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. With so many churches on this Island we must not allow ourselves to “lean on our own understanding, but trust in the Lord”(Proverbs 3:5). May peace be with us all.OWENHamilton Parish
