Vulgar advertising
15 August 2011Dear Sir,How can CellOne sink so low with their recent advertising?A few months ago they were advertising on television with some rude people sitting in a movie theatre eating and drinking and burping very loudly and making cat sounds. I did call a young man at CellOne after I saw that on television and was rudely told I was the only person who did not like their advertising.Today on page two of The Royal Gazette there is a new CellOne advertisement with the headlines “Some people just don’t understand sharing” — on the photograph there are two men in a bed with a woman — now what on earth is that to do with BlackBerry products or cell phones or sharing, sharing what? No, I do not understand sharing. It is a vulgar advertisement and sends a bad message to all of Bermuda and particularly our young people. I know the tourists will wonder what type of merchant would publish such an advertisement. Do we not have enough problems in Bermuda at the moment?I suggest anyone who deals with CellOne to find another carrier — what does this advertisement have to do with sharing?????CONCERNED RESIDENT
