Vote the PLP out
September 29, 2011Dear Sir,One hundred and fifty jobs lost in one day. Lost payroll tax for Government and lost health insurance premiums that helped keep our costs lower. Lost rents for landlords and almost certainly another slice off housing values as rental property is sold cheap to pay off mortgages. Lost food and retail sales, lost restaurant meals and lost opportunities to earn a living by all the support and service providers. When are we allowed to get really angry with the total failure that has been the PLP Government since 2007? In four short years, despite warnings they ignored as scaremongering, they have been set on a course that started slowly to destroy all that we knew and treasured but has now become a runaway freight train of destruction. Despite all their reassuring words the PLP are anti-business and their failure in not beating the Cayman to announce the abandonment of the failed work permit policy simply highlights their inability to understand what a disaster their policies are for Bermuda. Leaders should recognise that policies that garner party support but that destroy the financial security of all Bermudians in the process are bad policies. If the diehard PLP supporters vote for their party at the next general election despite all of the evidence that has proven their inability to manage our country within our means then heaven help us, because we will be joining our neighbours to the south in poverty. Please, please, please vote them out before everything is lost.VOTERPembroke
